It's a rough situation, because in context, it was really the only thing we could do. It wasn't a punishment at all, it was a logical consequence of what they did. However, the story for the rest of their lives is "one time Mommy shaved our heads". Except for Caelie, this was the second time. They haven't done it again though so I guess they decided that it's better to have a professional do the job.
They go back and forth between preferring long hair and preferring short hair. Their most recent haircuts....
